why does my hair stand up?

Ok, I asked this earlier today but I got two completely opposite answers. When I run my hands through my hair, it stays in whatever position I bring it to. It is like I gelled it, but really there is nothing there but my hair. Is this because my hair is too dry or too greasy?
Ok, consensus seems to be that it is too greasy, how the hell do I fix this without murdering my hair? Whenever I shampoo, my head/hair gets really itchy, even if I use conditioner too.

My hair is thin and straight, and whenever I curl my hair it doesn't last long. So what I use is this:
Freeze It Hairspray
It comes in a gold tin bottle
You can buy it at CVS
It's pretty cheap
And it really freezes your hair
It works!
Use LOTS of deoderant, try Arrid Extra Dry anit persperant. I've used for a while and it works great. I don't sweat nearly as much and i don't smell bad either. Try it!!!
Excessive body odor is usually the result of an acidic diet. Eat more fresh fruits & veggies (especially green) & kick the sodas to the curb

u need to cut ur tips so that ur hair can grow back healthy
once ur hair is healthy
it should shine on its own because healthy hair produces its own natural oils which is why some people put nothin in their hair and it looks so healthy and shiny

so what you need to do is cut the damaged hair and grow it back healthier , meaning dont put too much product s in your hair
