How should a guy use a hair dryer/blower?

I started using a hair dryer a couple days ago to see what it would look like. And, for the most part, I like how it looks/feels. But sometimes after I do it I get like hair sticking up and I can't comb it down or anything (especially on the sides of my head) so I look pretty silly. And other times it looks too ... neat.
I've been using it on the hottest setting. The Ion setting is on highest. I usually just take a brush and brush my hair up for a while so it can dry all over, and then brush it down so it doesn't stand up (though it doesn't always work).
So are there any changes I should i make to the way I'm already doing it? I'm 15 (and a guy) btw if that makes a difference...

blow dry your hair in the same direction as growth..
I would try to brush your hair down while blow drying it. It might take long to dry but you will get better results. If it looks too neat when you finish then run your fingers through it and shake it out. This should give you a better look. If it doesn’t work then take your heat down a setting and try it again.
ok good for u 1st of all for trying someting new i am a stylist and i believe you are doing pretty good but u need to pick up some bed head manipulater its in a smaller flat style jar u can apply this to damp wet or dry hair i would apply it to ur hair damp using very little rub it onto your hands then ur hair then blow dry your hair in the direction u want it to lay do it on a hot setting but use low instead of high for air force this will allow u more time to get the look u want now when its all done u can also take the bed haed and use a tiny tiny bit to put the very ends riteeeeeee where u want them and it will hold have fun ~~~~~~~~~~~

I prefer to dye my own hair because I have ultimate control over the colour, but if you have never dyed your hair before I don't suggest it. You have to understand colour, what strength developer to use and you also have to be comfortable with the application (technique) which can be difficult.
If you would be interested in dyeing your own hair you should go to a beauty supply store and read the bottles! You can pick out the colour and the level of developer you want but be sure to read those bottles too! And ask questions- hopefully the employees would be able to give you some helpful advise. When you apply it it helps to have a friend make sure you're getting even coverage.

The simple answer is that hair is heavy, the longer the hair grows, the less curl or wave, but it will always have some degree of curl or wave. That is unless you have extremely tight curls, then it just balloon out like a circus clown.
