Hair care and how often you should shampoo your hair depends a lot on your hair. If you are caucasion, for example, Shampooing only once a week may not be enough. If you are African American, shampooing more than once a week is not a great idea. It's the curse of naturally curly hair to be a bit on the dry side, however, if you use the right products, and use your tools like dryers, straighteners, curling irons, etc., properly, you can maintain healthy hair. I shampoo every day and have very healthy hair even though I color to cover gray hair. My hair is straight but I shampoo every day and blow it dry every day. I use good shampoo and conditioner, medium heat on my dryer, leave in conditioner and if I'm using an iron of sort, I use a thermal protectant. Some people think hair dryers are worse for your hair than flat irons or curling irons but that is not entirely true. Flat irons and curling irons apply concentrated heat and do much more damage if not used correctly than a diffused dryer on a medium setting.

We all use different ones so even though I work in a Marriott it is impossible to say which one you used without checking with that specific hotel.

Ours are white, old and don't work well at all. Our closest other Marriott hotel uses brand new top of the range ones. Each hotel has a choice of which to order.
